"Plan your work, then work your plan."
At least that's what my Mom said to me whenever I needed to make a decision about something. Strategy is the key component in working out what to do next when striving toward a goal. However, the majority of us get carried away by emotions and fail to see the importance of taking small steps and only focus on what the end result will be.We forget that making small moves is just as important as the big ones.
When you have a goal, by all means, imagination of what's to come is important. After all, imagination helps us stay motivated, BUT, don't get so caught up in the dream that you forget to do the work that will ultimately make it a reality.
Strategy is important. It's the key ingredient when you have to make a move. Thinking about the outcomes--the pros and cons--is essential in having the desired outcome you are looking for. This is where small moves come in.
We must think in small terms in order to make the big picture a masterpiece. Think of small moves as details and they are essential to the success of your dream being realized. It's the difference in whether your favorite key lime pie has that familiar zing that makes you dance or whether that same key lime pie goes flat because the correct amount of lime juice wasn't used while the pie was being made. If you will notice the difference, someone else will too.
Remember to plan for the future and deal with the present. Don't neglect the right now in favor of what could be. After all, what you do right now, will determine your future.
